James Mitcham Castleview consistently produces airy (but not without depth), meaningful and meditative tones. His drones each have their own distinct color and overtones that guide you into exactly the emotions and state of mind he wants you to be feeling. Castleview is a master of emotion-via-minimalism and Beautiful Abyss is no exception. Favorite track: Cerulean Basilica.

Brian Bourassa For the first time DE and Black Dingo Records has added a new artist to it's roster. Castleview's latest release, Beautiful Abyss, is a diverse collection of DroneSketches that are both reflective and mysterious and portray an altogether different feel than Duff's music and ads a new dimension to the label as a whole. Favorite track: Sacred Burial.

For the first commissioned BDR release, it is an honor to welcome a fellow passionate explorer of the sound-current, with over 20 releases of his own, Castleview.

Drawing inspiration from Matthias Grassow, Steve Roach, Vidna Obmana, Amp, Flying Saucer Attack, and traditional drone music created by La Monte Young and Eliane Radigue; Castleview produces a beautiful tapestry of drone, old school ambient and shoe-gaze in his BDR debut.
